It is 41.5 degrees C, which is over 100 in the old money. If you hear nothing further from me, it is because I have melted. I make note that it is not yet summer.

I don't miss the Sydney smog bowl at all. Yuck!

I heard one of the main fires was near Kandos, which means there's a good chance it's not far from our old property. There's a lot of national park land up there, but also a lot of rural families who struggle enough these days.

On a tangent, the Kandos swimming pool used to be the coldest pool in the history of man. They used to have an underground sand filter (as I recall) and the damned thing would feel close to zero on 40 deg days when we were allowed to stop picking tomatoes and drive into town for a swim. Beautiful clean water, though. I wonder if it's still like that?

I put ice cubes in my kitties water bowl - they love fishing them out, think it's a great game, and it helps keep their temps down.

Stay cool, honey.

That pool sounds so good ... If there was no fire danger at the moment I would have dragged us up to the Hawkesbury where there is a wonderful old dam that is lovely and cold, too!

And yeah, fingers crossed for Kandos ...
