Am sick. Have been so for several days. Nothing ghastly, just the sort of thing that leaves you wobbly, and I walk to and from work and do a surprising amount of maths during the day. Neither of these things can be done well with a brain that is going whoosh, whoosh from one side of my head to another. Were I a designer of alternative religions, I would be at the PEAK of my powers!

As it is, I am the queen of the lie-down, with helpful cats popping in to check I live. Not yet certain if they want some feeble patting or are planning to bask in my febrile glow. No, Cal, they are not planning on eating me, I am not expensive enough! Anyway, am getting better.

But enough about me! HAPPY SLIGHTLY LATE BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] violet_quill ! I am so pleased you met the best barista in the world that day, how brilliant! And also to [livejournal.com profile] thebrandytook , I hope you had a hobbit-worth of gifts!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY
to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] alienor77310 ! GO the present and cake fairies! I hope it's fabbo from go to whoa.

ETA: You see, this is why I cannot be trusted with proofs, or walks ... forgot the very important part of this message ...

THANK YOU [livejournal.com profile] catsintheattic ! I received a lovely parcel in the post today and look forward to both reading the story and having the festival of tea and almond treats! Sadly, Customs inspected the parcel, so any note has been lost (this happens, I fear lonely Customs officers have few friends, so pinch notes and leave them lying artlessly around their flats in the forlorn hopes that someone will see them and assume they are popular.)

Thanks, too, to [livejournal.com profile] calanthe_fics ! I had cocoa in my much-lived new Lilla My mug last night, and listened to Draco Malfoy the album, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] raitala . There is no better way to spend a not-quite vertical evening!

And now, for a little lie down ...

I loves me basic arithmetic! Was going to knit something today, but since I have the concentration span of a beagle puppy, it didn't happen. I did, however, pat a beagle puppy named Amy, which improved the day.

*giggles* Oh Brammers. ILU You're all funny and cute when you're kind of delirious.

I wish I knew how to knit. I want to make jumpers, and hoodies, and mittens, and quilts. *pouts*

Aw, I'm so happy that you've received the parcel. I'm not sure, but I think I wrote everything inside the booklet ... *has sieve-like brains*

Custom officers stealing notes ... how weird is that! Next time, I'll make sure to include a note to them, too. *nods* Or do you think they would feel insulted? ;-D

And I've just checked my list of all things sent to friends: there was no tea in your parcel, dear. Bathing salts, yes, and I hope you haven't tried to use them for making tea. *nervous wibble*

Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy the story and the marzipan-almond treats. They are called Bethmännchen, and they are a Frankfurt specialty. :-)

Get well soon!

Hee! I have to confess, I glanced at the label, couldn't focus on the words enough to begin to translate, and so just went along the smells nice, most likely tea, will worry about it tomorrow route!

You can see why I am not attempting to Get Things Done this week!

Mr B has not let me use the jug for a few days, so all is well ;-)

Now I'm relieved. It's good that Mr B is taking good care of you and that he prevents you from drinking the wrong beverages.

Don't go for getting things done until you're done with the cold. *hugs and sends herbal tea*

I thin he is convinced I will tip boiling water over my foot. The kettle has a note on it saying that my hot water privileges have been revoked.

Weirdly, I am really awake and about to fall asleep at exactly the same time. Probably a sign to go to bed ...

Aww - that's sweet. <3

I know the feeling of being wide awake and dead tired at the same time. Go to bed, dear. Sleep works wonders.

I have often thought I should be, or else a writer of self-help books, both would give us enough money for more first class flights!

Your description of the cats' "concern" made me snicker. How very feline of them!

Well, if they start nibbling at your toes or fingers you know they're checking. Before getting mine, I in turn checked if they COULD eat me so they wouldn't starve before someone found me! Heat helps to make us more chewable *pets*
