I am so ill, I have become thick. Which is a shame, because I had the perfect straight line handed to me yesterday.

One of the nice lesbians next door was introducing me to her cats and dog (I already know the other dog. Of course, we're yet to learn any of the actual human names, but there is a proper order to these things!) She pointed to my front window, where Cookie was sitting watching the world and said 'Is that your cat?'

I completely failed to say 'OH MY GOD! HOW DID THAT GET THERE?!' or even 'It is now!'

Absolute comedy vacuum.

I fear my fanfair fic is doomed.

I'm also having a case of thickness currently. The other day I was paying for something at the deli and found that for a few moments, I had forgotten how to count.

It's going around ;-)

It's going around.

I quite agree. I was sitting here, drawing, and the phone rings. For a minute I sit, and stare stupidly at my SLR which is sitting on top of the scanner beside me...wondering how to answer it.

My big black camera in no way resembles my small, white phone. In no way.

It looks like a camera.

None of my phones have cameras, I could be forgiven otherwise I suppose.

Oh god ... I have mornings like that! What is this beeping thing and why is it displaying numbers at me? Cannot process!

That cracked me up. I staggered in to work today, and by 4pm was hoping for the apocalypse to call a dignified end to things, but then xkcd and Sven's return in Questionable Content did wonders for my will to live :-)

And made me want to write Emily Dickinson: Texas Ranger.

YAY SVEN. I also approved massively! Sorry, I have to comment when other people know and love QC.

Good luck. *sends you tea and a duvet*

Sven is exactly like so many of my favourite bad ex boyfriends, but unlike Faye, I knew they were bad at the time and was unsurprised. I'm so glad he's back!

And QC rocks. Marten's mum reminds me so much of my own, as does his dad. Cross the two and you have her!

Thank you for the tea and duvet! A weekend spent mostly in bed has helped, I think I have turned the corner and am on the road to recovery now, thank goodness!

Thank you! I am past the everything aches and I wish to be unconscious stage, alas, that means I am in the everything is snot and I cannot stop coughing and sneezing stage. Mr B is in disgrace. Especially because he ordered pizza tonight, waited an hour, the went to the cashpoint at the very moment the pizza delivery arrived, which then cleaned out my wallet save for 20c. He has given me flu and penury!

Oh dear. Well, he is, after all, only a man. We have to make allowances.

Please get well soon. My mom is ill, too, although her case is more serious, so there's a lot of illness going around and I'm trying my best to keep healthy.

I fear my fanfair fic is doomed.

Ditto. ^^;;

*Sends best wishes to your mum*
*And to your fanfair fic*

I have decided that mine can just be insane, it's quite a helpful decision, as it means I am up to it in current state.

Even full of snot you're still brighter and more intelligently amusing than pretty much anyone I know, honey.

*sends you lemon tea and single malt*

OH NOES! Mr B's evil flu has eaten your brain! I'm sure your fan_fair fic will be fine and snork-inducingly funny!

*dons hazmat suit and hugs you*

If I was closer, I would bring you chicken soup.

I will be sending it to you for a sanity check!

And you would not believe how cactus I am: you would laugh and point and then flee, delivering soup from a distance. SG would scream, the draw amusing pictures in which I resembled a snot monster.

Yes timing really is everything. Hope you feel better soon Kitten.

"Sending you virtual chicken noodle soup and hugs".

Peace,

I just can't believe none of those occurred to me at the time! Though I was thinking 'She's INSIDE the house, chances are she's my cat ...' but I couldn't make that into amusing small talk.

Thanks for the soup, and the hugs!

No worries, I am sure your wits will return when you are feeling better! Which I hope you will soon. I myself have developed a distressing tendency to run upstairs to do something then stand about staring blankly at my room trying to remember why I came there for.

It's the running upstairs that does you in. Too much coordinating to remember at the same time: I'm like that many mornings ;-)

I thought I no longer was sick but my brain remains permaclogged, you're too funny AND confirmed my ongoing thickness! Just imagine how smart and funny you are and will be again when less ill or even completely well, it's scary.

ETA: see also eta to my post you so kindly replied to. Running up stairs is nothing compared to my ... dropsy. Or mayo.

*snuggles and sends you nice, hot, healing, herb-y soup!*

I think the thickness bug is going around. The other day, I went to work on a national holiday... well, nearly.

Not entirely a comedy vacuum! You just fail to appreciate your own wit at this point due to the evil scum inhabiting your head. I'm sure it's of alien origin. Die, evil scum, die!

Feel better soon :-)
