It was ...

… a very good last day. There was sun, salmon, some compost guarding, and some me guarding as she checked the laptop posed no threat.

And, at the end, with all of us kneeling around her cushions in the garden, she tried to bite the vet despite being sedated to the eyeballs. Because near-death does not mean a Min cat should give up the fight. The vet was incredibly charmed by this, and described it as extremely Minlike. The vet nurse cheered Min on, which I suspect was a trifle treacherous.

It is clear to me now that I cannot die before J, because, like the good, strong, tough man he is, he is bawling.

Oh, love. I'm all teary. She was a lucky cat to have such lovely owners! Sounds like she went out the best way she could - with love and dignity. *offers many hugs* If I can do anything to cheer you up, just ask x

More with grump and umbrage -- what do you people think you are doing giving me an injection when I want to be sitting on the compost, you bastards! was the general theme -- but yes, much better than suffering and choking. How are you at hiding in towel drawers so that only your ears are visible?

Ah, there can be dignity in grumpiness! Going out with a (cat-like) curse seems perfectly dignified to me :)

You know, I fear that while I could hide in a towel drawer with ease (if someone built an enormous chest of drawers that is, hehe), I'd struggle to show the tips of my ears. Alas, they aren't nearly perky and pointed enough! :D

Hope you're doing okay.

It was all very Min-like.

I fear it would be unfair to ask you to sit in the towel drawer, anyway, since it's a bit hairy and we have only salmon and kibble in the way of food. We may have to keep it closed when a new cat comes into the house, and let the next animal find its own drawer.

We're okay, but a strange day of emptinesses and unnatural quietness.
