As most people who have met me in RL know, I am erratic at the social niceties. Hence ...

HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY to [livejournal.com profile] knackard, [livejournal.com profile] hpdm4ever and [livejournal.com profile] rdmasters! Knack and HP, I hope that you had a great day of it whatever you are up to, RD, I apologise for the fact that we still have ridiculous government in this country, but hold out hopes for it as a whole as long as it has citizens like you. I hope the presents and cake were Excellent!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY I THINK IT STILL IS IN YOUR TIME ZONE to [livejournal.com profile] darkdianora, SO happy to see you back on LJ, I hope that you are having a wonderful day and that people are positively peppering you with pressies!

Also to [livejournal.com profile] terachan, tanti auguri! And that's my Italian birthday grammar exhuasted, I think ukulele has driven it out of my brain. I hope you're having the most fabulous day!

Finally, to [livejournal.com profile] blythely, I miss you! Hope the present fairies have lost all sense of proportion around your way!

Watching a documentary in which a person mentions cake.
Mr Brammers: Ooh, cake! Would you like a cake tomorrow? I might bake one. I really enjoy baking cake, and I haven't made one for ages.

Mr Brammers: Why are you looking at me like that?
Me: We have been together for OVER SIXTEEN YEARS and this is the first I have heard of this!

Seriously, he has made out that producing toast is something of a trial. If I come home tomorrow and there is a perfect Victoria sponge, I may weep – equal parts delight and frustration.
