blamebrampton: 15th century woodcut of a hound (Default)

Public notice

Lost: Brammer's talent
Last seen: Around HP10K time, though, if we're honest, it's all been downhill since 'Who? Voldemort?' 'No, Peter Mandelson.'
Description: Erratic, flighty, prone to obscure references, but likes a good laugh and a pratfall as much as anyone. Prone to running off with strangers and then being all coy about it afterwards. Overly alliterative. Occasionally found in pubs saying things like 'This Scotch is really very good!' Cannot resist conversation on story structure, unable to maintain serious facade for any length of time.
If found: Please do not feed alcohol or chocolate. Please keep quiet in dark box with ready access to water. Owner will be by to pick up ASAP. Sizable reward offered.

Is there a reward? *G*

Aw... I have had similar issues, but my main problem is time - I have no time to write!

I suspect it's actually run off with that calico tom cat that's been hanging around in your yard, and will turn up sheepishly in a little while with a few interestingly coloured kittens in tow.

*hugs you*

Have you considered having it microchipped?

Or maybe just fish'n'chipped. *ponders*

There's nothing wrong with scotch and chocolate. *eyes up pantry contents and drug packets meaningfully*

I think it's gone on holiday with mine....

Well, just get Harry and Draco to Seek it. It must be something like a Snitch. It's certainly golden, if a bit dipsomaniacal.

O.O
Perhaps it has just atrophied from disuse (while we have kept you chained to the beta-beast). Could you try writing a few drabble or ficlets to build up its muscle tone before attempting anything longer?

[identity profile] suttonwriter.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You have my sympathy and camaraderie. I've got a perfect idea for ending a fic in my head, but it won't get on the page in anything that even looks coherent. The tricks that I tell my students to use are proving just as annoying to me as they are to the students. Gotta love karma. . .

If it helps, there's at least one person who would really, really, REALLY love to the see the end of Fathers. . . :)

Running off with stragners. I've heard that about you. Are you sure you're not projecting?

[identity profile] emerald-dragon8.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I know exactly how that feels. I've been trying to bribe mine with sparkly things and the offer of a new job but alas...I got about 600 words out on the weekend, which is more than I have in about two months, but still not impressive.

Good luck with yours!

Have you looked in the fridge? I find the oddest things in there sometimes!

The icon is Col. Mustard. I have no idea why that's appropriate, except for the 'mystery' aspect.

The Mystery of the Missing Muse...

See what I did there? Alliteration is fun! It's like a Nancy Drew title.

but if i came across brammers' talent, i'd be so tempted to just keep it for myself and pet it and feed it yummy things :(

okay fiiiiiiiiiiiine. you can have it back.

I think it's with my car keys. I'll hunt for your talent if you hunt of my car keys!

[identity profile] winstonmom.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think I saw it hanging about with my desire to do homework. If I see it, I will ask it nicely to go back to kangaroo land.
Good luck.

When I lost my talent I eventually found it under the couch.

At least I think it was my talent. It might have just been a mouldy dust bunny...

To be fair, it's hard to see how you could go anywhere but downhill after a line like that.

I was going to say, blame Peter Mandelson, everyone else does, but some how during the party conference he's become rehabilitated! So, maybe Gordon Brown is now the culprit. :-)
