blamebrampton: 15th century woodcut of a hound (Default)

Public notice

Lost: Brammer's talent
Last seen: Around HP10K time, though, if we're honest, it's all been downhill since 'Who? Voldemort?' 'No, Peter Mandelson.'
Description: Erratic, flighty, prone to obscure references, but likes a good laugh and a pratfall as much as anyone. Prone to running off with strangers and then being all coy about it afterwards. Overly alliterative. Occasionally found in pubs saying things like 'This Scotch is really very good!' Cannot resist conversation on story structure, unable to maintain serious facade for any length of time.
If found: Please do not feed alcohol or chocolate. Please keep quiet in dark box with ready access to water. Owner will be by to pick up ASAP. Sizable reward offered.

Is there a reward? *G*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Sizable! Though less if found dead.

Aw... I have had similar issues, but my main problem is time - I have no time to write!

I had all the time in the world on the weekend. Should have spent it cleaning ...

I suspect it's actually run off with that calico tom cat that's been hanging around in your yard, and will turn up sheepishly in a little while with a few interestingly coloured kittens in tow.

*hugs you*

Have you considered having it microchipped?

Or maybe just fish'n'chipped. *ponders*

There's nothing wrong with scotch and chocolate. *eyes up pantry contents and drug packets meaningfully*

Biscuit is a girl cat! And I am meant to be regaining my healthy fitness ways, which leads me to believe that it may have gone out on a binge without me, the little bugger.

Well, just get Harry and Draco to Seek it. It must be something like a Snitch. It's certainly golden, if a bit dipsomaniacal.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
You're a love. Though I suspect it may be plated brass at the moment ... *Looks behind sofa*

O.O
Perhaps it has just atrophied from disuse (while we have kept you chained to the beta-beast). Could you try writing a few drabble or ficlets to build up its muscle tone before attempting anything longer?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I like your theory, though I blame work editing rather than fandom. I have to finish both those stories you have copies of before I do anything else! All I can manage is bad jokes and exposition :-(

[identity profile] suttonwriter.livejournal.com 2009-09-27 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You have my sympathy and camaraderie. I've got a perfect idea for ending a fic in my head, but it won't get on the page in anything that even looks coherent. The tricks that I tell my students to use are proving just as annoying to me as they are to the students. Gotta love karma. . .

If it helps, there's at least one person who would really, really, REALLY love to the see the end of Fathers. . . :)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Fathers is no problem! I have the end of Fathers all sorted, it's just that I should be writing for a certain fest before then. Maybe what I need to do is to actually finish Fathers and then the fest story will come ... actually, you may be onto something! Maybe my talent is just protesting my procrastination!

Running off with stragners. I've heard that about you. Are you sure you're not projecting?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
They're not strangers, I've known each and every one of them for at least two hours AND insisted on references! :-P

(Though were I to find it shagging a philosophy lecturer while wearing a beret and nothing else, I would not be surprised. Saddened by the tragic cliche, but not surprised ...)

[identity profile] emerald-dragon8.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
I know exactly how that feels. I've been trying to bribe mine with sparkly things and the offer of a new job but alas...I got about 600 words out on the weekend, which is more than I have in about two months, but still not impressive.

Good luck with yours!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
That's not bad at all! And how goes the new job? It has to be better than your old one. My fingers are crossed for you!

[identity profile] jadzialove.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Have you looked in the fridge? I find the oddest things in there sometimes!

The icon is Col. Mustard. I have no idea why that's appropriate, except for the 'mystery' aspect.

The Mystery of the Missing Muse...

See what I did there? Alliteration is fun! It's like a Nancy Drew title.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
It was in the library! With the candlestick! Shouting: 'No more political comedies, bitch!' (To which I reply, 'Just this one, then some angst, I promise you!')

You know, I only ever read one Nancy Drew. Maybe this is a sign ... XXX

[identity profile] aldehyde.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
but if i came across brammers' talent, i'd be so tempted to just keep it for myself and pet it and feed it yummy things :(

okay fiiiiiiiiiiiine. you can have it back.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you'd be saying that first part until about 3am on the first night when it was saying 'I want a chocolate milkshake! Let's dance to Joy Division! Waaaaaay heeeeeeey!' at which part you would quickly start saying I could have it back ;-)

[identity profile] pir8fancier.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's with my car keys. I'll hunt for your talent if you hunt of my car keys!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
They're in the pocket of your other jeans/jacket, or behind the sofa, or in the kitchen, or next to the phone that was ringing when you got in last night. If all that fails, in the lining of your bag, where they slipped in through a little hole. Good luck!

[identity profile] winstonmom.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I think I saw it hanging about with my desire to do homework. If I see it, I will ask it nicely to go back to kangaroo land.
Good luck.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
I hope the two of them are enjoying some good hot chocolates and discussing whatever topic your homework is. Unless it's biology. I am very iffy on biology. Fabulous for ebola, rubbish for knowing where a spleen is.

[identity profile] melusinahp.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
When I lost my talent I eventually found it under the couch.

At least I think it was my talent. It might have just been a mouldy dust bunny...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 08:54 am (UTC)(link)
Looking under my sofa is scary, and would involve using large piles of books ... maybe I could send in one of the cats!

Glad to hear yours is back, I hope it's feeling fabbo after its away!

[identity profile] rosathome.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
To be fair, it's hard to see how you could go anywhere but downhill after a line like that.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
Nooooooo! I refuse to let Mandy be responsible for the high point of my career! I am not Gordon Brown! I am far tinier!

I was going to say, blame Peter Mandelson, everyone else does, but some how during the party conference he's become rehabilitated! So, maybe Gordon Brown is now the culprit. :-)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-09-28 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I think he has photos of all of them naked. It's the only plausible explanation ;-)
