On another topic completely, I have found a fandom for which I don't think I could ever write smut porn erotica. I simply cannot, cannot get my head around the idea of Cumberbatch's Sherlock shagging anyone. Which is a terrible pity, because he is utterly delicious.

Oh it's the quintessence of lamity, and mostly centred in fandom: basically an anonymous community in which someone says, for example 'I hate XXXX (this being a specific and normal person, not a public figure), she's a stuck-up cow', and other people (presumably, it's all anon, so it could be the one person with far too much time on their hands) chime in with similar banality.

It's the fandom equivalent of being hit on by the really slimy mature-aged student at university: nasty and potentially traumatising, but in a way, it signifies you're having an impact ;-)

I live in Kansas, home of the Westboro Baptists (I lurk here occasionally, hoping for more 'Fathers') and I can assure you that the vast majority of Kansans would support an action to 'delete the account' of the hatemongers from Topeka.
