Kitty picspam, and a duck.

Since I last posted photos of the cats, they have grown somewhat ...

This is the Cookie in her position of power at the top of the tower. From here she can survey her demesne, and demand pats. It's not readily obvious from the shot, but her eyes are a lovely sea green.

This is the Monster, slugging around in her Monsterly fashion. She has an incredible gift for not carrying balls of wool or toys about whenever there is a camera handy. The toy you can see at her back paws was being held winningly in her mouth as I was opening the camera case. She is still growing into her various body parts, as you can see, though the emo facial expression she is wearing is a common feature of this kitten.

And here's an artistic rendering of the Cookie! by the wonderful [personal profile] leochi!

They have a number of special places they like to hang out, the tunnel being one of the top three ...

The tower being another ...

And, of course, the new favourite, the empty shelf on the new bookshelves ...

And, of course, there are never any disputes over who has what space at any given time.

You can feel the love, can't you?

Also, as promised, the Duck of Rundle Mall.

yaye kittehs!

that last one of the two of them fighting for dominance is priceless!

and that duck is so cute.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
The funny thing is that Mon is always the one going in with guns blazing, but she can be defeated by a lazy bat of a Cookie paw, despite the fact that she is considerably heavier than Cookie. I believe the Cook has trained the Mon to Fear Her.

It was a good duck!

They will be emo at you! But patting and feeding will relax them!

Your Tuxedo looks remarkably like my Miss Maybelline. I love cats!

Peace,
Bubba

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a particular type ;-) She is a very quiet little girl, but will insist that she needs to be on the lap or fed now, and gives such a commanding look I can't resist (particularly knowing that she was abandoned originally).

And so do I.

[identity profile] norton-gale.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Cookie looks really big. Perhaps that's just her fearsome ruff of hair?

She looks like she belongs on that bookshelf. :)

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
She is only 3.6kg and not really very big, but she is immensely fluffy, particularly if you compare her to http://blamebrampton.livejournal.com/22545.html#cutid1
which is what she looked like when we found her at the pound. She weighed 2kg then, I think it's safe to say that she is thriving.

And yes, she loves the bookshelf, though she is cranky with me as I took some of the space back for books. Monster has adopted it, though, so it will still be a kitty space.

Aw, they're gorgeous!

Cookie is adorably fluffy up top, it's great!

And my cat, Milly, has the same colouring as Monster!

Wow, when cats are involved, I can't stop exclaiming! (I have a problem, k?) ;D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
She is very fluffy! And very flopsy, when you pick her up she just flops over your arms or shoulder. It's very sweet.

Milly is a great name for a cat! And tortiseshells are always wonderful. I have the same problem, so don't let it worry you!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're ever in Sydney, you are very welcome to drop by and visit mine ;-) In the interim, see if any of your local pounds have petting visitation where people can go in and play with the cats to cheer them up.

Awww, kitties! They're both real beauties, too - I especially like the first photo!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 01:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They are beautiful, Cookie knows she is the poster cat for pound kitties. But I have the before photo where she was not quite as pretty!

[identity profile] uminohikari.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, they're so cute! I especially like the first pic~ The kitty looks like a giant fluffball

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
She IS a giant fluffball! And very flopsy, if you pick her up she just melts against you.

[identity profile] aldehyde.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
awwh the kittycats are so cute! i think i may like monster a wee bit more, because LOOK AT THE COLOURING! wooo.

i'm a dog person myself, especially BIG dogs. i wish i had a large enough place and the $ to get a big ass amazing dog like a siberian husky or something *dreams*

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Monster is HILARIOUS. She has a more overt personality than Cookie, though Cookie is more obviously lovely, but I agree that Mon has a beauty all her own, even though she's still growing into her legs and tail!

[identity profile] spacefragments.livejournal.com 2008-08-25 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)

Must. Resist.

The Cuteness of the kitties calls to me...

Remember the bad things.

There are bad things, yes?

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 02:03 pm (UTC)(link)
They can be very smelly, and they have sharp little claws which they don't notice, and they only live for about 15 years ...

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:17 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] tomatoe18.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
*gushes* They are so cute. ♥

Cookie on the bookshelves... reminds me a lot of my Aiden. One time, I entered my room and discovered that I actually have a Fluffy Book of Kitteh, which is not part of the curriculum at Hogwarts, on my shelf... just as I was about to read it, it scratched me and asked for a belly rub. Then I realized, it was not a Fluffy Book. It was Her Highness.

But, ooooh, the tower thingie... what is that? Where can I get one? It looks like a good idea to have at home for cats who like to climb to tall places!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Cookie would love to get away with that!

The tower of cat power is great. There's a house at the bottom, and then the three levels above. We bought ours at a petbarn, are there any big pet shops near you? We will be adding some high hammocks soon, too.

[identity profile] enchanted-jae.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Cookie is gorgeous, and Monster has such beautiful, striking markings.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I thank you, and my kitties purr smugly.

[identity profile] anabellhenry.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
Go G9! These are great shots - fun, warm, sweet and damn that camera does a good job. Cookie's eyes are incredible and her fur is so luxurious looking!

Can't blame Cookie for the bookshelf. She looks like a million bucks in it.

Thanks for sharing.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you SO MUCH for the camera rec! I actually edited out all the shots of Mon's bum, as she has a great sense of timing for her turns. They are both famous at the vets' for their glossy coats; all that money on food appears to be worth it. I don't know if you saw the first shot of Cookie, but the difference is remarkable, it's here: http://blamebrampton.livejournal.com/22545.html#cutid1

And yes, there will never be any books on that shelf ...

No, I can definitely see a nail in that Duck's foot. *nods*

Your kitties are very cute. Mine are annoying. They have the kitty run from heaven, two cat trees, a tunnel, and more toys that you can poke a stick at. Are they happy? Not on your life. *growls*

AND they're a pair of rimming freaks, which is only mildly embarrassing in company. Fortunately most of our company just takes notes. >.>

I'm sure I had something else of a profound nature to say. Instead I'll go back to reading fic and not being at the gym.

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-08-26 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I WANT YOUR KITTY RUN! And I assume the cats probably do, too. They just have the pokey little house and my wool collection, but they seem happy and non pervy. Yours are clearly rebelling due to all the privilege. Run away to Europe and leave them for a month, that'll show 'em!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2008-09-28 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
As you've probably guessed, that shelf remains empty ;-)

(Monster likes it, too!)
