I am awake, after a grand total of about 3 hours of sleep, and I am so filled with delight after The Day of the Doctor that I am not sure I can go back to bed.

No spoilers, because I know a lot of Aussies will be watching it tonight, but it is a thing of great joy and beauty and if you do not breathe a little gasp of surprise and wipe away a tear in the last five minutes, then you are Gen Y or lacking a soul.

Oh Doctor … it is the only show that I was allowed to watch as a child, you know. My father was wise.

I confess that I have still not been able to watch the episodes in which Tennant dies. I was travelling at the time they screened, and I couldn't do it to myself when I got home. I might be up for it now. I did cry at You Know Who, though a little tear of happiness as opposed to the gallons I wept when he regenerated. And YES! SO MUCH CLAPPING!!

It's a tough ride - make sure you have tissues handy! I missed them when they first aired and was already furious at Matt Smith for being "New", but his first moments made me forgive him the loss of Tenant. A LITTLE.
