blamebrampton: 15th century woodcut of a hound (Default)

On the tenth day of Christmas, blamebrampton gave to me ...

A limerick. Oh shut up.

There was a young writer of fic
Who could not master writing 'bout dick
She had character, plot,
But of sex not a jot,
And her readers said 'Bugger this for a load of old cobblers, I'm off to find some porn'

In happier news the notes to flisters F-H are actually up here, and for those with user names C-E are here and A-B are here. While I still hold that this was a good idea, it takes MUCH LONGER than I thought it would, and I have really really sore arms at the moment. This is because I have been rearranging the house and putting up new shelves, which led to a bit of stiffness, so I went to see the sadistic Chinese Massage Man, which means I am now still stiff and also bruised. I should point out that the second part of that was not intentional on my part.

Also, if I forget anyone, it's NOT PERSONAL, it's INCOMPETENCE, which I abound in. One person defriended me and I had a momentary panic it was because I had accidentally said something horrid, when I realised that I had actually omitted her! I'm trying to work out if I should say anything ...

Well, you do write the word "cock" now and again, and since we all know what they look like and what they can do we can imagine the sex. That, or go off and read or write some porn after. ;)

The defriending - I'm thinking if it makes you feel bad then say something. If it was someone you don't deal with a lot and aren't that fussed about, leave it - but go back and add them to your list, so if they fume at their friends that you're a bitch for leaving them out there'll be no proof! ;)

I cannot believe that you did not want to go and light candles at Machiavelli's tomb! That's pure evil and genius ;-)

I do actually have two sex scenes in stories, but one's just a handjob and they are the two stories that no one reads. Oh, hang on, three, but the third is het, so, yeah. Maybe I should write something utterly filthy but have it be Made Eye Moody/Bill Weasley ...

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 11:19 am (UTC)(link)
*cackles like Cosimo* (Niccolo gets bumped for the sake of alliteration. A bit cynical perhaps; I think he'd approve.)

There was both a handjob and a shag in Of Great Price, as I recall, but they were definitely sex scenes not porn. What are the other ones? And HA, I would be first in line for the Moody/Bill filth! I have told you of my love for Aspen's Moody/Draco porn, yes? :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
Moody/Draco, god save me! (I am sounding very Catholic today, it's all the Evelyn Waugh ...)

Well, go on, link me!

It's locked at [livejournal.com profile] privetdrive here and [livejournal.com profile] pornish_pixies here, so you'd have to join to read. Or I could send you the copy I have saved - which does feel wrong, but since I know you're a right-thinking woman I guess it'd be all right!

Maybe I should just take this as the universe telling me to live without and save on the brain bleach ...

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 12:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No no. It's the universe telling you how lucky you are to have friends who are shameless facilitators! And to check your email.

One of us is definitely going to hell (that's in Iceland isn't it?)

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it's a small town right by the airport that serves Trondheim - how did you know I'm going there next weekend? :D

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I knew it was somewhere up your way!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
:D It's too fitting for words that I'm going north for my grandmother's 85th! I can't remember if the airport shuttle passes through Hell, but if it does I'll try to snap pics of some signeage to prove I've been there and back. ;)

Sounds like one of my family gatherings ...

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 01:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I do exaggerate. It'll be good to see people again, and it'll probably end early - which gives me the opportunity to go to a friend's birthday bash afterwards. It's all very efficient, actually - fly up on Saturday morning, go to two parties, fly back again on Sunday afternoon. I can pretend to be an international jetsetter!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 01:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm yes, just without the money. Curses, foiled again.

If Phillipa Gregory can make a fortune from bodice rippers, so can you!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
If you write the plot I'll write the porn, we'll both be rich and sadly HAVE to travel to all sorts of wonderful museums. For research!

[identity profile] blamebrampton.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, that's not such a silly idea. Pick a period from 1200-1650!

[identity profile] pingrid.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd probably be most commercial to stick to England and/or France for the first one, and I think the Gregory woman may have cornered the market for c 16, so how about early to mid 15th century? Hundred years' war, thriller and squick-factor with Gilles de Rais, and the feisty hero or heroine can be instrumental in ending the war somehow.
