Oh good grief ...

This week remains unhelpful.
Finger is broken (though not badly, all will be well once it stops hurting), then poor young Heath, and now MY MAGAZINE HAS FOLDED!
Now, I do not grow deeply attached to titles and workplaces for the very reason that I am familiar with the vagaries of publishing, but I really enjoyed working there and it was with the smartest and most interesting team I had ever encountered. So ... BUGGER!
Will be fine, there is redundancy pay so I do not need to dip into savings, and I also have three weeks' leave even after the hols, just ... BUGGER!
At least I can now spend a few more days in New Zealand than I looked like being able to. That's good. And if the pay-out comes through quickly and some writing gigs fall into place, I can make it up to Welly for a bit and badger people for more work! And June in Paris is back on the agenda! So really, there are plenty of silver linings, I'll just miss my workmates.

Date: 2008-01-24 04:46 pm (UTC)We study the bones with actual bones here, and let me tell you, no one non-medical wanted in my room while I was on bones. :g: But once during study party we did a fun re-enactment of the Hamlet-with-the-skull scene.... :cheeky:

Date: 2008-01-24 05:49 pm (UTC)We have two feet of snow. :/ How about I give you half of mine, you give me half of yours and we both end up with reasonable, mild weather? :crafty:

Date: 2008-01-29 09:13 pm (UTC)Yeah, I know, we had that sort of summer - and it was wtf hot for our region. I wanted to shed my skin all the time. But it was a perfect day today -despite the two remaining feet of snow- blue skies and bright sun, and we did snowmen.
...
Okay, we didn't do them, made them, but that was an interesting image anyway. :g: My brain's too sleepy to type foreign languages.
