I was talking with [livejournal.com profile] pingrid earlier about our love for Professor Sprout and Miriam Margolyes, who plays her. She often lives in NSW and I sometimes see her at the theatre, whereupon I have to run in the opposite direction before I say something so appallingly idiotic that she kindly asks me 'Are you deranged, or just a wanker?'

As part of the conversation, I told Pin about MM's appearance on Enough Rope, a peculiarly Australian sort of interview show, where people are nice and no-holds-barred in equal measure. It is the only interview that I have had to press record during because I was laughing so hard I could no longer hear the subject. I recommend taking the time to watch it on YouTube (there are 4 parts), or, if you have a tiny download limit, reading the transcript here, which is very nearly as funny.

And now, back to the limping, cleaning and editing. [personal profile] treacle_tartlet , I plan to get you drunk so you don't notice the dust.

You're very welcome. I had completely forgotten that I lived in the 21st century until yesterday, when I was bemoaning to pin that I had failed to keep the recording I made, and she said: 'Surely it will be on YouTube.'

Pin also suggests there are more oral sex jokes in the transcript. I am shaking my head at Pin noticing this.

She's fantastic! I've got "Matilda" by R.Dahl read by her, and I never tire of listening to this audio book.

Aaaah, she's SO FABULOUS. :D I've watched some of these clips two times now. But there's more talk of oral sex in the transcript. ;)

I love the Queen, too. If I'd been there, I would probably have exploded with delight.

Okay...

a) Miriam Margoyles is brilliant. She is part of the cast of one of my favourite films of all time (Cold Comfort Farm), but is fabulous in everything I've every seen her in!
*fangirls a bit*
b) Why are you cleaning for me? Foolish woman, I live with a four year-old! I probably wouldn't even notice your sort of mess (tell me, do you have mumified toast crusts hidden in the folds of the couch cover?).
c)ZOMG *head asplodes* I WILL BE IN SYDNEY TOMORROW NIGHT!

Thank you - this ex-pat loves to see ANdrew Denton - always used to watch his shows. He once did a documentary on "dung" for the ABC (of course).

You're very welcome! He is hilarious, so I find the dung doco very easy to imagine. Stairways to Heaven was my first exposure to him, and it still makes me laugh!
