Sometimes things happen and although you can point to lots of facts and reasons, none of those satisfy your emotional need for hope and consolation. Which is why I am glad I am friends with

I can remember how I heard the news, where I was standing, what the weather was like that day, the numbness I felt walking home. I can still recall many names and details of victims. It was such an exceptional event in Australia. Getting the laws changed seemed an inevitability.
