Looking for the right words

Sometimes things happen and although you can point to lots of facts and reasons, none of those satisfy your emotional need for hope and consolation. Which is why I am glad I am friends with oncelikeshari, who wrote this, which is kind and beautiful.

Half my comment disappeared. I went on to say that I know I'm coming from a place of grief and horror, but every time I hear about something like this in the USA (and it horrifies me that it has happened so many times that even the names of the places it has occurred in start to blur in my mind), I just can't understand how parents there can stand to hear lines like 'guns don't kill people, people do'. That line makes me feel like vomiting.
